Online Community As part of our Internet Classroom Integration course we joined an online community of our choice. I joined Edutopia and was surprised at this fabulous source of information, ideas and inspiration. You can read about my experience below. |
Digital Story Telling
Digital storytelling is a powerful tool and wonderful way to bring technology, creativity and joy into the classroom. We built our digital stories using the methods described in Digital Storytelling in the Classroom by Jason Ohler. He breaks the process down into easily approachable steps. The first step is creating a hand drawn story map. The story map details the emotional development of the story, problems, transformation and resolution. Link below to see my story map for Antarctic Convergence.
After the story map has been constructed we build our story script. This will be the narrative that accompanies our digital story. Use the link below to view my story script.
Once the script is finalized, I created a story table. This breaks down the script narration and matches them with images and footage to accompany the words in the final product of the short film. Use the link below to view my story table.
Below you will find my culminating digital story project. Enjoy.
After creating my digital story I spent some time reflecting on the creative and practical process of piecing it together. Feel free to read my reflection of the creation process and how this might play out in the classroom
Below you will find the rubric I intend on using in my classroom during a digital story project.

Anthrotec Investigation
This was an assignment for our Internet Classroom Integration Class. We researched the various types of technology available at Thunder Mountain High School. We acquainted ourselves with the faculty and student technology leaders and our school's technology mission. From 3D printers to drones to archaic lab tops we've got it all. Find the details below.
